Q. In october I'll be driving from the far south of South Texas (actually, from Mexico) to New Orleans (a 13-hour drive). I'm a Janis Joplin fan. I have the choice of passing by Port Arthur and checking the Janis exhibit at the Museum of the Gulf Coast. Now, in that context: would it be worth my trouble? But, if you are a fan it's probably worth the 20 minute detour to get to the museum (especially if you need to use the bathroom right about then.) Remember Janis hated Port Arthur and Port Arthur hated Janis until they figured out they could make a few bucks off her name by starting a museum. I wouldn't expect much.
